I’d heard whispers about white deer before, but nothing prepared me for seeing them in person at Deer Haven Park. Driving through the old Seneca Army Depot, past crumbling bunkers and overgrown roads, felt like stepping into another world one where nature quietly reclaimed a piece of history. Then, out of the trees, they appeared: pure white deer, ghostlike against the green.
After the tour, I wandered deeper into the Finger Lakes’ outdoor playground kayaking on Seneca Lake, hiking Finger Lakes National Forest, and chasing waterfalls at Robert H. Treman State Park. Between the wildlife, history, and endless trails, this trip was pure magic.
