Chase Travel rebooked my JetBlue ticket and kept the difference

This honestly caught me off guard, even though I’m now seeing it’s happened to others.

I booked a JetBlue flight using points through Chase Travel. The ticket originally cost $335.73. The flight ended up being severely delayed, so I had to cancel. When JetBlue issued the credit, it was only for $267.53.

I assumed it was a mistake and called JetBlue. They told me Chase had rebooked the ticket at a lower price at some point, without notifying me, and that Chase kept the difference instead of refunding it to me in cash or points.

I then called Chase and the first rep denied everything and said they didn’t do that. I pushed for a supervisor, who immediately confirmed that yes, Chase did reprice the ticket and said they would refund me the difference in points.

Still pretty shocking. Between this and the recent fee increase, this really pushed me closer to being done with Chase Travel.
