That’s so frustrating… same PNR, checked in right on time, and still ended up in different rows in middle seats.
From what I’ve seen, Cathay does sometimes hold back a few seats for airport control, so there’s still a chance at check-in or even at the gate. People shuffle around more than you’d think last minute.
I’d definitely ask nicely at both the counter and gate… feels like one of those situations where it might get fixed, but not guaranteed.
