This one actually made me mad. Imagine flying with the same airline for decades, millions of miles, basically living on their planes, and they give you a lifetime Diamond as a thank you. Then years later they just… take it back.
I get that programs change, but calling something lifetime and then quietly rescinding it feels pretty backhanded. Especially for someone who’s nearly 70 and earned that status the hard way, long before points inflation and credit card bonuses.
The worst part is CX apparently brushing him off when he asked for clarification. No explanation, no goodwill gesture, nothing. Just a shrug.
I know airlines don’t care about loyalty like they used to, but this is a rough look even by today’s standards.
