Carrying cash through Turkey during a layover, do you have to declare it?

I’m planning a trip from the EU to Georgia with a layover in Turkey, and I’ll be carrying a relatively large amount of cash.

I’ve been finding conflicting information online, so I’m hoping someone here has recent real world experience.

If I’m just transiting through Turkey and not leaving the airport, is there a limit to how much cash I can carry without needing paperwork or a declaration?

And if a declaration is required, is that something you need to prepare before the flight, or is it done at the airport during transit?

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this recently.
