I just read about a recent poll on Carnival’s brand ambassador John Heald’s Facebook page, and as someone who’s cruised with Carnival before, I totally get why this one stirred strong opinions. The topic? Whether self-serve soft-serve ice cream should be replaced by crew-served cones. Over 18,000 passengers voted to keep the DIY swirl alive, compared to only about 2,000 who preferred crew service.
Honestly, I’m with the majority here there’s something about walking up to the machine on the Lido deck and making your own cone even if it’s your third of the day. Sure, I’ve seen the occasional mess, especially with kids having a little too much fun, but the freedom to indulge without judgment feels like part of the cruise experience.
