I cruise every year and recently booked my upcoming cruise a few weeks ago. I paid the deposit and I believed the next payment was not due until about a month later based on what I remember from the booking process.
In past bookings, I either had automatic payments set up or logged in periodically to make installment payments before the trip. However, when I checked my reservation today, the booking number was no longer recognized. After calling Carnival, I was informed that the booking had been canceled two weeks ago, roughly a week and a half after I paid the deposit.
I was also told that payment reminder emails were sent, but I only found four emails from them in total, and I checked my spam folder as well.
Now I have lost the booking, the cruise is sold out, and I am being told the deposit is not refundable. I am wondering if there is any way to recover the deposit or if anyone else has experienced something similar.
