I booked myself a birthday cruise after finding what seemed like a great deal and paid in full for a balcony cabin. I also went ahead and booked my flights since everything was confirmed.
Today, I received an email from Carnival stating that my reservation is being canceled. The same cruise is now showing interior rooms available at significantly higher prices than what I originally paid.
Instead of honoring the booking, they’re offering $100 onboard credit if I choose to rebook before August. It feels frustrating that a paid reservation can just be canceled like this after everything was confirmed.
For context, I paid around $400 for a 6-day cruise for one person. The only “solution” offered so far doesn’t really match the inconvenience of having to replan everything and rebook at current rates.
Has anyone dealt with something similar, and is there any realistic way to challenge this or get a better resolution?
