I stayed at Capella Singapore last year, and it remains one of the hotels I think about the most.
What stood out was not any single feature, but the overall atmosphere. Despite being only about 10 minutes from central Singapore, the property feels completely removed from the city. It is surrounded by dense greenery, and the soundscape is mostly birds rather than traffic, which is unusual for Singapore.
The resort has a very calm, low-density layout. Even when other guests were present, it never felt crowded or hectic, and we ended up spending more time on the property than planned because it was genuinely relaxing.
The rooms were also excellent, particularly in terms of size compared to typical luxury city hotels in Asia. The design was understated and elegant, and the bathrooms were especially spacious.
Service was consistently strong: warm and professional, but not overly formal. It felt more personal than many larger luxury properties.
Key highlights:
very quiet, peaceful environment
lush tropical surroundings
large, well-designed rooms
strong pool facilities
excellent breakfast
easy access to the city when needed
feels more like a resort than a city hotel
One important note is that this is not ideal if your priority is being in the middle of Singapore’s urban activity. If you want direct access to shopping, dining, and Marina Bay, hotels like Ritz-Carlton Millenia or Fullerton may be better suited.
However, if the goal is relaxation with convenient access to the city, Capella Singapore is extremely strong.
I would absolutely stay again.
