I’m genuinely confused about what it takes to get approved for the Venture X at this point.
I have:
800+ credit score
Six-figure income
Multiple credit cards with limits well above $15,000
Another Capital One card with a solid history
I’ve applied before and was declined. One of the reasons provided was that I don’t carry enough of a balance. That surprised me because I pay my cards off in full every month and always thought that was considered responsible credit behavior.
Does Capital One really prefer customers who carry balances, or is there something else going on with Venture X approvals that I’m missing?
Has anyone with a similar profile been denied and later approved?
