I just found this community and I am hoping for some help or advice.
I am trying to book a round trip flight for a wedding next year and I am struggling to find anything reasonably priced. I am looking for flights from Chicago (either O’Hare or Midway) to Raleigh-Durham International Airport.
Travel dates:
Departing: Wednesday, October 21, 2026 (from Chicago)
Returning: Monday, October 26, 2026 (from Raleigh-Durham)
I am flexible with airlines, seating, baggage fees, and comfort level. I just need the cheapest possible option. I would also consider booking two one-way tickets if that ends up being cheaper.
Even booking about 5 months in advance, I am still seeing prices around $500 to $600, which seems high for this route. There is also a sports event happening at the time, which may be affecting demand.
Has anyone seen similar pricing on this route, or do you have any tips for finding cheaper fares for domestic US flights on busy weekends?
