Cancun trip this Saturday. How do I cancel without insurance?

We have a JetBlue flight to Cancun this Saturday. After seeing the news, my wife doesn’t feel comfortable going anymore.

We didn’t buy travel insurance.

What are our actual options here? Is it just cancel for a credit (if the fare allows) or are refunds only if JetBlue cancels the flight? Has anyone had luck getting flexibility in situations like this when flights are still operating?
