I was originally scheduled to fly from London to Oslo on May 31 at 10:30 UK time, arriving in Oslo at 13:45 local time. The flight was cancelled on May 27, and I was rebooked onto a later flight on the same day, departing LHR at 19:50 and arriving in Oslo at 23:00.
I submitted a claim for EU compensation, but I received a response saying I am not eligible because I supposedly arrived at my destination within the required timeframe under Article 5(1) of EU Regulation 261/2004, with a delay of less than two hours.
I’m confused by this reasoning, since my actual arrival time was almost 10 hours later than originally planned. Is the airline calculating eligibility differently because the cancellation happened several days before departure?
