I was scheduled to fly from Liverpool to Dublin at 9:05 pm on Saturday, but the flight kept getting delayed and was eventually cancelled after 11:30 pm.
The airline offered hotel accommodation and rebooking on a replacement flight at 9:05 pm on Sunday. However, I needed to get back to Ireland as soon as possible, so I traveled to Manchester and booked an earlier flight with another airline instead, which cost me nearly €170.
Because the airline’s alternative options didn’t suit my situation, I ended up arranging my own travel. I’m now wondering whether I’m still entitled to compensation for the cancelled flight, especially since I had to pay out of pocket as a student.
I’m also struggling to contact the airline, as their website keeps crashing whenever I try to submit a claim.
