I bought a refillable windproof lighter as a souvenir while visiting Singapore and I’m trying to figure out whether I can legally bring it home on a Singapore Airlines flight.
From what I understand, standard disposable cigarette lighters are sometimes allowed only if carried on your person, but not in checked baggage or regular carry-on bags. However, this lighter is specifically labeled as a refillable windproof lighter, which makes me concerned it could fall into the category of torch, cigar, or novelty lighters that may be prohibited.
Has anyone traveled through Changi Airport or flown Singapore Airlines with something similar? I’m especially wondering whether an empty refillable lighter would still be restricted and whether it needs to be carried on my person or not allowed at all.
Would appreciate any recent experiences or clarification.
