They booked a single room and want a friend to stay over for just one night with a sleeping bag. No breakfast, no amenities, nothing fancy. Friend would leave early.
Honestly, this really comes down to the hotel policy. A lot of places in Europe are strict about registered guests for fire safety and insurance reasons. Even if it seems harmless, technically you’re supposed to declare the extra person. Some will just charge a small extra guest fee, others might say no because it’s a single occupancy booking.
Getting kicked out feels unlikely if it’s handled quietly, but it’s still a risk if the hotel notices.
Personally I’d just ask the front desk ahead of time. Worst case they quote you a small fee and you’re covered.
