Looking at flying from SFO to Sweden for the last two weeks of June (roughly June 17 to July 1). I know it’s peak season with Midsummer, but prices feel brutal.
Most reasonable itineraries are around $1500 with ~11 hour travel time. I can find cheaper options closer to $1100, but they involve insane layovers in places like Portugal or Istanbul and turn into 30+ hour trips, which I really want to avoid.
I’m flexible on arrival city. Gothenburg looks cheaper than Stockholm, and anywhere within an easy train ride works.
Are there any tricks here? Alternate airports, sneaky routings, positioning flights, or is this just one of those times where you either pay up or suffer?
