Running the numbers for a Ritz stay and buying points comes out way cheaper than paying cash. I’d need about 200k points plus the 70k promo bonus, but I’d still be short around 47k. I already know the annual limits for buying and gifting, but I’m not sure how those interact.
Basically: if I max out the points I’m allowed to buy for myself, can a friend still gift me additional points on top of that so I have enough for the stay?
Anyone done this combo before?
