I’m planning to fly from Edinburgh to Canada via Dublin in October and intend to book the flight using Avios points. From what I understand, I would first need to book an economy seat with Avios and then contact Aer Lingus to request a business class upgrade using additional Avios.
My concern is booking the ticket and then finding out that an upgrade isn’t actually available.
I contacted AerClub, but they replied with a standard response saying they can’t confirm upgrade availability in advance and that I should submit my flight reference number to request an upgrade after booking.
Would it be better to call customer support, or are business class upgrade seats generally available if I book this way?
