During my adventure travels this summer, I took a chance on the Burner Express from San Francisco to Black Rock City and it paid off big time. While my friends were stuck in a 31-hour traffic nightmare after a rainstorm, I breezed through on the Burner Express bus, complete with air conditioning, a toilet, and some of the most eclectic, generous strangers I’ve ever met. Shoutout to the German guy with the misting fan and the Boston virgins with sour watermelon candies.
What struck me wasn’t just how much time I saved, but how much community you feel before even arriving on the playa. It cost me $284 with my bike, but totally worth it. Anyone else take the Burner Express this year? Or do you still brave the drive?
