Final update: we made it!
We missed the initial departure of our Brooklyn → Bermuda sailing with Virgin Voyages due to delays (mainly a last-minute hair appointment that ran several hours over schedule). We were supposed to arrive at the terminal around 3pm but ended up getting there too late.
After some back-and-forth and trying to figure things out, we were eventually able to rejoin the ship at the next port in Bermuda. We managed to fly out, arrive ahead of the ship, and board again successfully.
What happened:
Planned arrival: 3:00pm → actually arrived much later
Missed initial boarding at Brooklyn terminal
Contacted support and explored options
Booked a flight to Bermuda to catch up with the ship
Successfully reboarded at the next stop
Lesson learned:
Definitely do not schedule anything tight on embarkation day. Arriving early is not optional when it comes to cruises with Virgin Voyages or any cruise line in general.
Despite the stress, everything worked out in the end and we managed to continue the trip.
