I booked a round-trip flight to Louisville for Thanksgiving on Breeze Airways. Thinking I was being smart, I booked the outbound flight with their upgraded refundable fare and the return flight with the basic non-refundable fare. My logic was that if plans changed and I needed to go elsewhere (like Chicago instead), I could cancel the refundable portion and just keep the return flight.
What I didn't know and what wasn't made clear, was when you have even ONE non-refundable flight in a round-trip booking, Breeze makes the ENTIRE reservation non-refundable. This isn't clearly stated during booking, but is if you look deep enough into the FAQ
To make matters worse, I contacted them exactly 60 days before departure to cancel, but their policy requires 61+ days notice. Being off by literally one day means I only get 50% of the base fare back instead of a full refund.
I am strongly reconsidering giving Breeze my business again. Just wanted to point this out to anyone else who uses Breeze so they do not get caught off guard like I did.
