Booking.com not showing “pay at property” anymore… account flagged?

I’ve used Booking a lot over the years. Tons of stays, but also a fair number of cancellations since I travel pretty flexibly as a backpacker.


Lately I’ve noticed that for some properties that clearly offer “pay at property,” my account only shows prepayment options and says pay at property isn’t available. This happened a couple years ago too, and now it’s back.


Has anyone else run into this? Wondering if too many cancellations can quietly limit your payment options, or if accounts can get flagged internally.


Curious if there’s any actual policy behind this.
