Booking.com free cancellation disappeared after I changed the dates

Booked a hotel through Booking.com with free cancellation and pay later. A month out, so no rush. I only changed the end date by one day and didn’t see any warning about the cancellation policy changing.


After the amendment, the booking no longer shows as free cancellation. The property just keeps repeating what’s on the booking now and says it’s non refundable.


Has anyone else had this happen after modifying dates? Trying to figure out if this is something Booking.com can actually fix or if I’m just stuck because of a system change
