Just need to rant and get this off my chest. On Dec 13 I booked a flight from Vancouver to Sri Lanka for what I thought was Dec 22. Price was around 800 CAD.
Checked the confirmation today and realized my mistake. I’d actually booked it for Jan 22, a full month later. Cue full on panic.
I called support right away, cancelled the flight, and got back about 500 CAD. Not great, but better than nothing. I then had to rebook the correct flight for tomorrow… for 2300 CAD, with the same airline, through a different site.
Trying to cope by telling myself the prices probably would’ve been this bad even if I’d booked the right date originally. Still painful, but I’m just grateful I was able to get a seat at all this last minute.
