I recently booked a row of three Main Cabin seats on a Delta flight from LAX to Sydney for my wife and me, mainly to have extra space for such a long-haul journey.
In the Delta app, one of the seats is showing as an “extra seat,” which is what I expected. However, I have a couple of concerns and would appreciate clarification from anyone with experience.
First, how can I ensure that Delta does not reassign or remove that extra seat before the flight?
Second, I am unsure how the airline handles documentation for an additional seat booked for comfort purposes. If a passport or visa is associated with that seat, how is that managed when it is not being used by a separate passenger?
If anyone has booked an extra seat for a long international flight before, I’d really appreciate any advice or insight.
