Just found out that SEA-TAC is getting biometric eGates through CLEAR ahead of the 2026 World Cup and honestly, I’m curious how this’ll change the airport experience. I’ve used CLEAR before and it’s already a time-saver, but with facial recognition skipping the TSA check-in podium entirely? That’s next-level. CLEAR says they don’t access watchlists or override TSA, so TSA still calls the shots.
I’m all for tech that makes travel smoother, especially with the World Cup bringing millions through Seattle next summer. But I wonder how everyone feels about the privacy side of things. Would you opt into facial verification for faster security? Or is that a hard pass for you?
