If you haven’t been following the Bilt card drama, things just shifted in a big way. Bilt quietly overhauled its rewards, and a lot of the hardcore min max crowd is now eyeing Alaska as the new landing spot.
Over on r/biltrewards, tons of people are talking about using Alaska Mileage Plan at 3x redeemable miles and 0.5 elite qualifying miles per dollar of rent, even with the 3% fee. For higher income renters, the math apparently still works, especially for chasing MVP Gold and up.
Feels pretty obvious where this is heading. More elites, especially out of SEA and SFO, upgrade lists getting even more ridiculous, and saver level redemptions drying up faster than usual.
If in six months you’re wondering why there are 100 plus people on the upgrade list for a random midweek flight, early February is probably the moment it all started.
