This is actually a pretty solid plan.
Kimpton George is a good pick location-wise, especially if you want to walk everywhere. You’re close to Capitol Hill, Union Station, and can easily hit the Mall from there.
Switching to the Kimpton Banneker though… also not a bad move. That area puts you closer to Dupont Circle and some better food options, and still walkable to most major sights.
Between the two:
George = better for monuments + Capitol area
Banneker = better for food + slightly nicer vibe
For a super short trip like this, location matters more than hotel “quality” anyway.
Also respect the 20+ miles walking plan… DC is perfect for that.
