I was just reading about a wild moment at Sunnyside Restaurant in Tahoe City where a massive bear casually strolled by while the place was packed with diners! No one got hurt, thankfully, and the bear eventually wandered back into the woods. It happened in late July, and honestly, it’s no surprise since the spot is right between forest and lake. A bunch of people online said the same thing we’re in his backyard, not the other way around.
I’ve been to Tahoe a few times and always heard it’s bear country, but this makes me rethink how normal it is to be so close to wildlife. It’s a reminder to respect their space. Anyone here ever experienced something like this during a trip? How do you stay safe and still enjoy places where wild animals might show up?
