Yes I booked basic. Yes I have the $350 Delta Platinum Amex. Yes I know this sub is about to roast me.
But I had just enough miles to yeet myself and my partner from snow to Costa Rica for like $180 instead of burning a companion pass at $800. I chose chaos and frugality.
I accept my fate in the last row. Someone has to sit back there. It might as well be me.
Real question though: does having the Delta Platinum Amex bump me out of Zone 8 boarding at all? Do I get Main 5? I just want to get my big backpack in the overhead so I can stretch my toes while the lav door repeatedly assaults my soul.
I know it’s ridiculous to hold a $350 card and book basic. One day I’ll cancel it. But for now I’ll take my $10 Uber credit and my back of plane vibes.
So… am I still Zone 8 no matter what?
