Just got word that BART is finally launching contactless payment on August 20 no more digging around for my Clipper card! You’ll be able to tap your bank card just like in NYC or London. It’s about time SF caught up on this. This is going to make my daily commute way smoother, and it’s great news for tourists too.
That said, it’s only working on BART for now, so I’ll still need my Clipper for Muni and CalTrain. Curious how many glitches we’ll see with card clashes or people confused by the system. Anyone planning to ditch their Clipper altogether once this kicks in?
