Figured I didn’t need to keep paying for both the Alaska and Hawaiian cards with the merger happening, so I called Barclays to close my Hawaiian card. My anniversary was Oct 31, so the fee had just hit.
They instantly offered to waive the annual fee for the year if I kept the card. Didn’t have to push or negotiate. Just said I wanted to cancel.
Heads up if anyone else is in the same boat seems like calling within 30 days of the fee posting is all it takes.
