I flew from Rome to Hong Kong with a layover at Zayed International Airport on Etihad. When I arrived in Hong Kong, I found a notice inside my luggage and discovered that the zippers had been cut open.
My suitcase uses a TSA007 lock, so I do not understand why it needed to be damaged in this way. The bag is now not only unsecured but also has sharp edges, making it unsafe to use.
I have already submitted a claim through Etihad’s online system and received an email response, but I am unsure what my next steps should be. What is the proper way to proceed in this situation?
