It finally happened. After many years as BA Gold, my travel pattern since Covid just never came back. Less long haul, fewer flights, one timezone in my head again. Honestly not all bad. But yeah, losing seat selection at booking hurts the most.
What really surprised me was the email from BA. Completely sterile. No thanks for the years at higher tiers, no “we’d love to have you back,” not even a nudge toward Bronze. Just some generic Avios text and a mention of Sustainable Aviation Fuels.
In a weird way, this plus BA’s recent changes has been kind of freeing. Opened my eyes to how many other airlines are out there that might actually try a bit harder.
Ah well. End of an era.
