Just did my first big solo trip (27M) and spent 3 weeks in Vietnam. Saigon’s chaos, Hanoi’s old quarter, Ha Long Bay sunrise, it all blew me away. Ate nonstop pho and banh mi, did a sketchy but amazing Mekong motorbike tour, and met awesome people in hostels. Even took a cooking class in Hoi An and can now roll spring rolls like a pro.
Whole trip cost me about $1400 including domestic flights. Way cheaper than I expected and worth every penny. Already eyeing Thailand and maybe Laos next.
