I booked a BA Holidays package to Abu Dhabi for late April, but the flights are actually operated by Qatar Airways via Doha.
Since the regional conflict started, I’ve been waiting for BA to extend their disruption policy so I could cancel and get a refund. BA has now cancelled their own flights to Abu Dhabi, but my flights are on Qatar, which are still operating (at least for now).
From what I’ve seen over the past couple of weeks, Qatar tends to cancel flights only about 48 hours before departure, so right now I’m basically stuck waiting.
BA’s current disruption policy only covers travel up to 15 April, so my booking isn’t included yet. BA Holidays says I could change destinations once the policy gets extended, but if the new trip costs less than what I paid, they won’t refund the difference, which feels pretty unfair.
Curious if anyone else has dealt with something similar when booking through BA Holidays with partner airline flights.
