I rent from Avis pretty often for weekend trips and usually use a solid corporate discount.
Super annoying thing keeps happening though. If I return the car even one day early, Avis drops the corporate rate and re-bills me at the full public price. Every single time I then have to contact support and fight through a long refund process to get them to honor the original rate.
It’s happened enough times that it feels like a pattern, not a glitch.
Has anyone else run into this? Did you find a workaround? I’m wondering if updating the reservation in the app right before returning the car actually prevents this, but haven’t tested it yet.
Would love to avoid the refund dance every time.
