Heads up if you’re headed to Avila Beach, CA the Highway 101 interchange at Avila Beach Drive is shut down for 40 days starting August 18 through September 26. The county is building a new roundabout to reduce congestion and improve safety. Detours are in place via San Luis Bay Drive or Spy Glass Road, and while the beach and local businesses remain open, owners are bracing for fewer visitors during the disruption.
