I have an upcoming Starlux Airlines flight from Manila to the United States as I’m relocating permanently, so my luggage is already fully maxed out and I don’t have much flexibility to reduce what I’m bringing.
To manage weight limits, I’m considering wearing a fishing vest on the flight and using its pockets to carry heavier items like my laptop, chargers, and other small essentials. My idea is to reduce weight in my checked and carry-on bags.
I’ve heard that airlines may allow worn items since they aren’t counted as baggage, but I’m not sure how strictly this is enforced in practice.
I would still remove the vest for security screening, but I’m mainly concerned about whether airline staff at check-in or boarding might consider it an additional carry-on item or require it to be weighed.
Has anyone tried something similar with Starlux? If so, did it cause any issues at the airport or was it accepted as normal clothing?
