I’ve seen this trip people up before, and yeah… it feels wrong when it happens to you.
On paper it looks like you’re arriving March 9, but in reality you land March 10 because of the International Date Line. Airlines show local times, but the date jump isn’t always super obvious when you’re booking.
Losing a hotel night and missing plans because of that would hurt though.
I don’t think Copa is doing anything unusual here, but at the same time it’s one of those things that isn’t explained clearly enough unless you already know how it works.
Japan flights are especially tricky with that “lose a day” effect.
