Are SQ flights really full months in advance, or are seats just blocked?

Flying Brussels–Singapore in February, and when I checked the seat map it looked almost full already. I was hoping to grab a window or a full row closer to check-in, but it seems like every seat’s already taken.

Do people really pre-book that far ahead, or is Singapore Airlines just blocking seats for certain fare types or statuses?
