I noticed this challenge and am considering whether it makes sense to adjust some of my travel plans around it.
I have several domestic and international trips coming up this summer. For domestic travel, I usually book Main Cabin and only occasionally purchase First Class. However, with the bonus loyalty points available through this challenge, I am wondering if upgrading to First Class on some flights could help accelerate my progress toward Platinum status this year.
At the same time, I am not sure the additional cost of buying First Class tickets solely for the extra Loyalty Points is actually worth it from a value perspective.
Is anyone else participating in this promotion? Have you changed your booking strategy because of it, or do you think it makes more sense to stick with normal travel habits and let status come naturally?
