Anyone else get a nightly “utility fee” in Palm Springs?

Just stayed at the Thompson Palm Springs and noticed a $1.14 nightly “energy charge.” Front desk said it’s for utilities.

First time I’ve seen that at a Marriott property, anyone else run into this in Palm Springs?
