Got hit by the gov’t shutdown and needed some help from both Amex and Citi. Reached out to Amex first quick chat, explained my situation, rep said “we got you” and fixed it in minutes. Zero stress.
Then I tried Citi. Couldn’t find a real person online, finally called, sat through hold music forever, repeated myself twice, and left the call more frustrated than before. Same end result, totally different experience.
Moments like this remind me why I’ve stuck with Amex for 30 years costs more, but honestly worth it.
