Had to cancel an $8K Backroads trip last minute because my wife started having health issues. We weren’t told by her doctor not to go, but got a note afterward saying she wouldn’t have advised it. Filed a claim through Amex (AIG handles it) and got reimbursed in full about a month later.
Didn’t even know this benefit existed until I was digging through the site ended up saving $8K. Definitely makes that annual fee sting a little less.
