I’ve had my Amex Blue Cash card for about a year now. They started me at a $1,000 limit, which was fine since it was my first Amex. Since then, every credit limit increase request has been denied.
I’ve tried the 3x request each time and get rejected every time. I always pay my balance in full, make around $150k a year, have a 700+ credit score, and usually sit around 30 to 40 percent utilization before paying it off.
I was hoping to build a relationship with Amex using this card before eventually moving to Gold or Platinum. But at this point, I’m wondering if it’s even worth using the card anymore.
Am I missing something obvious here? How does Amex actually decide who gets a limit increase?
