I recently received an upgrade offer for my American Express Flying Blue card in the Netherlands and I’m trying to judge if it’s worth accepting.
The offer includes 80,000 bonus miles, which would be awarded in month 9 after upgrading. To qualify, I need to make at least one purchase of at least €1 every month for 8 consecutive months. If I miss any month, I lose the bonus entirely.
There’s also a restriction that I cannot take advantage of other American Express upgrade promotions during the same period.
I’m basically looking for opinions on whether this is a good deal and if the conditions are reasonable or risky.
