Saw this and honestly kind of wild if it keeps working. The idea that you can grab OW Sapphire just by getting the Qatar Club Infinite card feels like a loophole that shouldn’t exist.
$499 AF, big Avios bonus that basically offsets it, and suddenly you’re walking into AA Flagship lounges on domestic flights. That alone sounds broken. Add in decent award pricing and worldwide lounge access and it makes chasing OW status the old fashioned way feel pointless.
Obviously it only lasts a year and who knows how long Qatar keeps this setup, but for anyone US based who wants Sapphire perks fast, this seems almost too easy.
Curious how many people are already doing this and whether AA eventually clamps down.
