American’s 787 Dreamliner Now Flies with 7 Crew- Is That Enough?

I just learned that American Airlines got the green light from the FAA to staff their premium-configured Boeing 787-9s with only 7 flight attendants even though there are 8 emergency exits. As someone who flies often, that feels like playing with safety margins. Flight attendants are saying this setup could delay evacuations and increase risks during emergencies. I get that airlines want to avoid delays if a crew member calls in sick, but this seems like a line crossed.

Apparently, Delta and United also have similar waivers, but still one person manning two exit doors at the back of a packed Dreamliner? That’s a lot of pressure. Do you think it compromises safety, or is it just airline unions overreacting? I’d love to hear what others think, especially those who’ve flown on these widebodies.
